Lough Island Reavy and Spelga Dam

http://www.mourneobserver.com/160408news05.html
Winter grips Kilcoo and causes a rare phenomenon at the weekend. A solid sheet of ice covered Lough Island Reavy Reservoir for the first time. Mother Nature casts a sparkling spell, turning the landscape into a winter wonderland...

Kilcoo was covered in a lovely white frost this morning, and most of the day. Unfortunately I could not get out and about to get nice photos.I would have loved to have gone to Tollymore Forest Park to see what it looked like. You can see the white frost on the tree here, with the long morning shadows. I think this morning was the coldest weather Kilcoo has had for a very long time...

Even yer man from UTV Jamie Delargy was having great fun at Spelga. "The craic was 90"

Castlewellan Forest Park Peace Maze

Walking around Castlewellan park today I saw fresh snow across the whole of the maze. With most of the snow around town all disturbed, this fenced off snow looked great for today's photo. Just wish the sun had been a little higher.
