Be Bold Go Bald...

Organisers of the anual Wax, Shave or Dye event at Maginns bar in Castlewellan invited Alannah Donnelly and Caroline Clark to help launch this years fundraiser, which will take place on Friday 6th May.

Eight year old Alannah was diagnosed with an accute lymphoblastic leukaemia, in September 2009. Her family had to travel to and from the Royal Belfast Hospital for sick children for her intensive treatment and CLIC SARGENT helped to provide financial practical support for the family. Alannah's mum Julie-Anne says 'Alannah is such an energetic girl - I don't know where she gets it all from! We decided to help raise funds for CLIC SARGENT as we wanted to help families in the same situation, so we went through St Baldricks to do this. Alannah loved helping out at the head shaving event and she is the life and soul of the party. She's on maintenance treatment now and doing well. She is so excited to be back this year helping out St Baldricks'.
The fundraiser has become a firm favourite in the bar's calender. This year the committee is inviting groups and individuals interested in taking part to attend registration evening at the bar on Saturday 9th April from 8pm.

Doan is not the highest of mountains.... but what it does do, is offer undoubtedly some of the best views of the Mournes.

St. Patrick's Day Banbridge

Once confined to a single day, it now spreads itself over a week. A truly carnival atmosphere provides a backdrop for days of music, madness and magic, which includes street theatre, fireworks displays, pageants, exhibitions, music and dance. Throughout the week, the Irish themselves do what they do best: party, a celebration full of warmth, fun and energy.

Only 364 days left until St. Patrick's Day 2012 sláinte!!
